CARE: Active Parenting of Teens

Plaquemines Community CARE Center is pleased to announce an exciting research-based video and discussion workshop called Active Parenting of Teens beginning Thursday, April 18, 2013. This program offers an effective and unique approach to improving family life.

Active Parenting of Teens brings parents of children ages 12-16 together over a six-week period. At each session parents identify daily family problems and then learn communication skills for solving and preventing them. What kinds of problems? Chore wars, sibling rivalry, homework hassles, peer pressure…name a few.

The workshop’s goal is to help parents raise teens who are cooperative, responsible and able to resist peer pressure. It also helps develop communication techniques that teens will use for the rest of their lives.

Millions of parents across the country have already benefited from the lively Active Parenting video & discussion courses.

Each participant will receive a book, which includes activities and worksheets reinforcing and expanding on skills and concepts from each of the sessions.
