The Plaquemines Community CARE Center is pleased to announce an exciting research-based video and discussion workshop called ActiveParenting of Teensbeginning Thursday, September 11, 2014. This program offers an effective and unique approach to improving family life.
Active Parenting of Teens brings parents of children ages 12-16 together over a six-week period. At each session parents identify daily family problems and then learn communication skills for solving and preventing them. What kinds of problems? Chore wars, sibling rivalry, homework hassles, peer pressure…to name a few.
The workshop’s goal is to help parents raise teens who are cooperative, responsible and able to resist peer pressure. It also helps develop communication techniques that teens will use for the rest of their lives.
Also, the CARE Center is excited to announce a new program for stepfamilies, Active Parenting for Stepfamilies. A video-based program to help parents and stepparents build a powerful parenting team, strengthen your marriage, and guide children through the transition to a new family—in just six classes. For more information about Active Parenting for Stepfamilies, please contact the CARE Center.
