A Positive Partnership for the Community

Another Positive Partnership for the Community

Under the direction of Judge Michael D. Clement, the Department of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) partnered with the YMCA in Belle Chasse to offer a babysitting course to youth in the Belle Chasse community. Six Belle Chasse teens participated in this pilot program hosted by the YMCA and instructed by Ms. Rachel Jonas.  The teens completed a six-hour course and earned a “Babysitting Certificate” issued by the American Safety and Health Institute.  Ms. Jonas and the YMCA hope to offer this program to more teens in upcoming months.  It is through partnerships such as this, that the Plaquemines Parish community can work together to improve the lives of our youth.
